Ray of hope emerges on interest rates
|
After months of rising rates and gloomy forecasts, there may finally be a small sign that the tightening cycle is nearing an end. This article looks at why some lenders have started cutting fixed rates, how falling bond yields and softer property conditions may be easing pressure on the Reserve Bank, and why economists are now more divided on what comes next. While nothing is certain, the piece suggests the RBA may be in a position to pause and watch rather than keep pushing rates higher. Some are even predicting cuts down the track.

Tips to re-enter the property market after divorce
|
Re-entering the property market after divorce can be far more difficult than many expect, even when a reasonable deposit is available after the sale of the family home. With higher prices, tighter lending conditions and the challenge of borrowing on a single income, many divorcees are finding themselves in a position not unlike first homebuyers. This article looks at the so-called ‘single’s tax’, the support schemes that may still be available, and some of the more creative pathways people are using to get back into the market.

Perth council bans ‘ugly’ feature from homes
|
A Perth council’s decision to ban a common home feature in certain heritage areas has sparked a strong debate about the balance between streetscape character and practical living. While supporters say the move helps protect the look and feel of older neighbourhoods, critics argue it overlooks the benefits many homeowners value, including privacy, security, noise reduction and energy efficiency. This article explores what’s been banned, why the decision was made, and why it is proving so controversial.

Zoe's property preview

If you're ready to downsize but haven't yet found the right property – one that doesn't mean sacrificing space for comfort and style for a better lifestyle – I encourage you to take a good look at Mark and Shelley's latest listing at Mount Pleasant. 15/22-28 Gibson Street, Mount Pleasant has been extensively renovated to a quality standard and is located on the street front of the aptly named 'Pleasant Grove', a boutique over 55s community in the heart of this lifestyle rich, riverside suburb.
Here's what I love most about this property:
- How immaculate it is, inside and out – Enjoy a new kitchen, renovated bathroom, light-filled open-plan living, study/multi-purpose room, private front and rear courtyards with pristine gardens and wraparound verandahs. Bliss!
- The versatile floor plan – The clever layout gives you flexibility when family and friends visit, with the study opening to the main living area via triple bifold doors to create an extended entertaining zone when needed. When closed off, it can be a third bedroom, home office, guest room or whatever you choose. The garage also opens onto the rear courtyard for extra space when entertaining alfresco.
- The location – Leave the to-do list of a larger home behind for the simple pleasures that make this pocket of Mount Pleasant so sought after, from riverside strolls and bowls to shopping, wining and dining – all within easy reach from home. There's even a wood-fired pizza place a few doors down for those nights when you don't feel like cooking.

Seller of house in Cockburn Central, WA (6 days ago)
"Wow what a team are Shelley and Mark!
They did a fantastic job of preparing our house in Ridge Road, Jandakot for sale in record time. We had total faith in all their advice during this time. This is the second house in the last eighteen months that we have entrusted them to sell and we would not go with anyone else.
Many, many thanks".
