Before COVID, private treaty sales in Perth took an average of 51 days to sell, while auction campaigns lasted around 29 days. Fast forward to 2024, and private treaty sales took 16 days on average in December (up from 10 days earlier in the year) while auctions took an average of 16 days (down from 18 days earlier in the year). Sales activity was up 26.5% in Perth during the week ending 26 January with 865 transactions recorded. On closer inspection, house sales were up 22.9%, unit sales were up 30.1% and land sales were up 61.8%.
Perth’s highest sale price: Dalkeith – $4,930,000
Perth’s lowest sale price: Mount Lawley – $325,000
Listings There were 4,790 properties for sale in the metropolitan area for the week ending January 26, which is 4.5% more than 4 weeks ago and 24.1% higher than the same time last year. Top selling suburbs south of the river

Perth rental market REIWA members reported 2,219 properties for rent at the end of last week, which is 3.6% fewer than the previous week, but 22.9% higher than 4 weeks ago and 13.4% more than the same time last year. Leasing activity was up 2.8% throughout the week, with REIWA members reporting 803 properties leased. This number is a staggering 250.7% higher than 4 weeks ago and 35.9% higher than one year ago.
