Australia will be playing host to 2 global tournaments in November.
The first will be the Melbourne cup, running on the first Tuesday of the month.
With the prize money of $ 8 million, it attracts some of the world’s best horses, trainers and jockeys.
What’s unique about the Melbourne Cup is that it’s one of the few handicap races in the world.
This is when horses are allocated a different weight depending on their age and previous form.
Jockeys and their riding equipment have to be weighed before and after the race.
Sydney, at the end of the month, will be hosting the Australian Golf Open.
Men and Women golfers will be playing on the same course on alternate days to allow spectators to see both competitions. The prize money is $1.7 million for the champions.
