Welcome to C J's e-Newsletter!
Dear John Park
As we hit the coldest part of the year, it gets harder and harder to stay on top of your health. There is less daylight and motivation to exercise, you want to reach for comforting (and often unhealthy) food and the flu is circulating in the community.
The House of Wellness recommends a few tips to help you get through winter healthier and happier.
Healthier food options are even more crucial in the colder months to help your immune system to fight the winter bugs. Try to add variety in the types of food to get all the necessary vitamins and nutrients. Adding health boosting spices like ginger, cinnamon and turmeric into your food can help with your gut-health.
Ramp up incidental activities such as walking up steps instead of taking an elevator, park further away from your destination, walking on the spot while in a meeting or a phone call. Now may also be a good time to pick up a new sporting activity such as indoor swimming, gym.
Finally, be aware of winter home hazards such as mould and poor indoor air quality. Buy some indoor pot plants that can clean the air and boost your mood like a Peace Lilly or Aloe Vera plant. Occasionally, open the windows to help with ventilation and prevent mould from growing.
Our homes are even more important to us in Winter. Do you want to discuss your property or are you thinking of selling, and would like to receive a market appraisal? We will provide you with a comprehensive report on the local market with a suggested price guide for your property based on the current market.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and advice at our Rhodes office on 9739 6000 or Newington office on 9737 8338.

Best time of year to buy a house
|
|
If you’re on the market to buy a house, you’re probably wondering whether it’s the right time to make a move.
While personal circumstances will be the most influential factor when it comes to purchasing, depending on the types of markets you’re looking in, understanding selling seasons is important. It all comes down to supply and demand; you could end up bidding against plenty of competition in a market lacking listings, or you could be attending scores of listings with plenty to choose from.
So what sort of market conditions should you be looking out for?

The RBA’s inflated dilemma over interest rates
|
|
As we all know, the situation has dramatically changed. Rents are now climbing at their fastest pace since late 2009 and vacancy rates nationally are at historic lows.
On Monday, the ANZ-CoreLogic measure of housing affordability found a median income household needs to spend 30.8 per cent of their income to service a new rental. That’s the highest proportion since mid-2014. If you’re in a lower income household, you would need to spend an eye-watering 51.6 per cent to keep a rental roof over your head.

The Reserve Bank's latest forecasts show interest rate rises are working, but there’s one key uncertainty
|
|
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) expects economic growth to be slower, unemployment to climb higher and inflation to fall faster than it did just three months ago.
That’s according to the bank’s latest quarterly Statement on Monetary Policy, which sets out its assessment of the economy and forecasts what we could expect to see in the months and years ahead.
